Siyasal Yapı

Lüksemburg anayasal bir monarşidir ve başkanı Büyük Dük'tür. Hükümet parlamentoda çoğunluğa sahip olan parti tarafından kurulur ve başında bir başbakan bulunur.

Tek kamaralı parlamentonun 60 üyesi 5 yılda bir genel secimle tayin edilir.

Dil Grupları

Ulusal dil Lüksemburgca'dir ve neredeyse bütün halk tarafından konuşulur. Ancak Lüksemburg'un birçok uluslararası kuruma ve şirkete ev sahipliği yapması Lüksemburgca'nin resmi kurumlardaki önemini yitirmesine sebep olmuştur. 1984 dil kanunu Lüksemburgca'yi ulusal dil olarak kabul etmiştir ancak Fransızca'nın yasama dili olmasını öngörmüştür. Yönetimde ise Fransızca ve Almanca kullanılmaktadır.

Dini Gruplar

Lüksemburglularin büyük çoğunluğu Katolik Hıristiyandır, ancak Protestan, Musevi ve Müslüman azınlıklarda mevcuttur.

AB Üyeliği

Lüksemburg AB'nin altı kurucu üyesinden birisidir. 1922 yılından itibaren Belçika ile parasal bir birlik kuran Lüksemburg 1999 yılında Euro-Zone a dahil olmuştur.

AB Fonlarına yaptığı katkı ve aldığı yardım

Lüksemburg, AB'ye yaklaşık 272 milyon avro katkı sağlamaktadır, bu da toplam AB bütçesinin %0,3'une tekabül etmektedir.

Lüksemburg AB'den yıllık 156 milyon Avro almaktadır, bu rakam toplam AB fonlarının yüzde 0,2 sine tekabül etmektedir.

Böylece 2003 yılında Lüksemburg Avrupa Birliği bütçesine GSYIH' sının %0,26 oranında net katkı sağlamıştır. Bu oran her Lüksemburg vatandaşı basına 125 avroya tekabül etmektedir ve üye devletler arasındaki en yüksek katkı oranıdır.

Political Structure

Luxembourg is a constitutional monarchy with at its head a Grand Duke. The government is lead by a prime minister and governs through a majority in parliament.

The unicameral parliament has 60 members, elected by the people for five-year terms.

Linguistic groups

The national language is Luxembourgish and it is spoken by nearly the entire population. Luxembourg also acts as the centre of many international institutions and businesses and their presence has seriously diminished the importance of Luxembourgish in public life and officialdom.

The 1984 language act established Luxembourgish as the national language and French as the language to be used for legislation. The administration uses both French and German, but rarely Luxembourgish.

Religious groups

Luxembourg is predominantly Roman-Catholic, with Protestant, Jewish and Muslim minorities.

EU membership

Luxembourg is one of the six founding members of the European Union. Already in 1922 it entered into a monetary union with Belgium , which became part of the euro in 1999.

Share in EU funds contribution/reception

Luxembourg contributes around 0,3 pct, or €272 million, of the total EU budget.

Luxembourg receives 0,2 percent or €156m of allocated funds. This represents 0,74 pct of its own GDP.

Therefore, in 2003, Luxembourg was a net contributor to the EU-15. The net contribution amounted to about 0,26 pct of Luxembourg ’s GDP. This equals 125 euro per Luxembourg citizen: this is the highest per-capita contribution of the EU.
